Good start. We need to add the logo and the rest of the events. As we have a list of email addresses, once we set up the events and get the comments from the rest of the e-Peaks committee, we should send out an invite from the committee to all the emails to join.
Thanks John. I don't know the logo history, but, I am going to STRONGLY suggest a new e-peaks logo is needed. I happen to know someone who would be up for that. ;-). If you want maybe you can have someone add real content in the event section. Do we what to show this and TechTonics tomorrow night?
Bruce, love the new logo and welcome screen. The first "after hours" went very well with over 27 folks attending. The next one at The Computer Port should a really good time.
Could/should e-peaks consider this site to be THE resource for technology in the state of NH? Are there existing resources/websites/groups? Is this too big to consider or does the new media allow us to have a broader conversation and put the area (Tech Village) on the map? Is there enough interest? IF yes, the content on this site should be changed soon to speak to a broader audience. Someone in NH or New England, has or WILL do this...
Some great questions (an/or ideas). This should be on the agenda of the next ePeaks committee meeting. From a philosophical standpoint is ePeaks and this site a place for the local tech folks to meet, socialize and learn or do they want to open it up to a broader audience. From the MWVEC's standpoint it might be said the the broader the audience the better, but the local folks may want one of their own. Jac has many contacts in the southern part of the state involved in technology and could tell us if he is aware of any other such site.
Bruce, Software Association of New Hampshire is one that defines itself as a state-level organization. I co-chaired the consultant's special-interest/networking group several years ago which did and continues to run a listserve, and the association supports other networking groups, annual meeting and state conference and the like.
My guess, and this is purely speculation at this point, is that groups might care to retain some of their particular identity and serve their membership as its been defined, while also engaging in those broader conversations that make sense.
It will be interesting to see how the membership defines itself and if there is a desire for new direction or conversation. I am not sure if people are aware that this can be a place to express their ideas. Perhaps the dialogue is happening offline.
