Making a living in the Valley

I've been visiting the MWV since a child 25 years ago and have not stopped. The cycle continues as I now come up with my wife and kids as often as possible.

We are very interested in making a permanent move there, but trying to figure out how to also make a living.

I've been providing professional services in the software industry for about 12 years and would be very appreciative for any guidance members e-peaks can provide.

Is your current job portable and you can just be based out of the MWV? Or are you looking at starting a new business up in this area?

Hi Dan,

There are many folks that have moved up here permanently with a similar history. There are a lot of avenues you can take to make a living and a number of aids available to help you out in the Valley. If you want to work for someone then ePeaks and other social venues are available to help you find a job. If you want to work from home, then there are a lot of support services to help you set it up. If you want to start a company there is SCORE and the Economic Council to help with some mentoring. If you need financing (besides the banks), there is the Economic Council loan fund for debt financing and 1st Run Angels Group for equity financing.
